Life as a Self Employed Massage Therapist

Posted on May 22, 2018 at 4:21 PM Comments comments (218)
Welcome to my "blog" page.  I'm a first time blogger, literally, so please accept my apologies for the clumsiness...

I'll start out by introducing myself.  My name is Dore (pronounced Dory... yes, like the fish), and I have been a massage therapist since 2005.  I started my own practice in 2007, after working for a chiropractor when I left school.

Over the years I've added on to my original training, including Orthopedic Massage, which is very helpful for people with conditions that cause limited range of motion.  I specialize in neck and shoulder conditions, but also feel confident working with hip and low back issues.

I've been certified in Prenatal massage and even became an Infant massage instructor, and a Duola though I have not pursued that.  I may, in the future, revisit that.

Most recently, my focus has been on lymphedema, and received my CLT certification : Manual Lymph Drainage (Vodder Technique) and Complete Decongestive Therapy.

Sadly, I feel I am stuck, regarding how to move forward with this new training... I'm still working that out... I am open to suggestions.

Thank you for your interest in Massage Wellness
